Civil Construction Project Engineer

Position Overview

The Civil Construction Project Engineer is responsible for the overall planning, site execution, technical coordination, and supervision of civil and structural engineering works. The role involves working closely with Project Managers, main contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with local regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Supervision

• Supervise day-to-day civil, structural, and infrastructure construction site activities in accordance with approved structural drawings, method statements, and project specifications.

• Plan, coordinate, and sequence work schedules, manpower, machinery, and material delivery to maintain project timelines and avoid site bottlenecks.

• Resolve technical site issues, structural conflicts, and design discrepancies in consultation with consultants and resident engineers (RE/RTO).

Quality Control & Safety Compliance

• Perform QA/QC inspections for site works, earthworks, substructure/superstructure, structural steel, and concrete works.

• Ensure strict adherence to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, Risk Assessments, and safe work procedures on site.

• Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RAMS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and statutory submission documents.

Subcontractor & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate and monitor subcontractor performance, work quality, and progress.

• Liaise with clients, architects, structural engineers, M&E teams, and external agencies (e.g., BCA, LTA, PUB, NEA) on design, site access, and authority clearances.

• Attend regular site progress meetings, coordinate technical discussions, and compile weekly/monthly site progress reports.

Cost Control & Project Administration

• Track work progress against planned baselines and assist in progress claims, variation orders (VO), and technical documentation.

• Verify material delivery orders, test reports, and site measurement records.

Requirements & Qualifications

Educational Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering from a recognized university or polytechnic (PEB or MOM recognized equivalent).
