Role Overview
We are seeking a Citrix Administrator with strong technical expertise and client-facing skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, including designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Citrix environments. This role requires hands-on experience with core Citrix components and the ability to work with clients to ensure smooth operations and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Design, implement, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops environments.
- Administer License Server, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix Studio, Delivery Controller, Citrix Director, Zone Data Collectors, and NetScaler / Citrix ADC.
- Configure and optimize load evaluation, load balancing, monitoring, and telemetry tools across Citrix environments.
- Publish applications and manage virtualization using AppSense, Microsoft App-V, and/or Citrix App Layering.
- Configure and manage roaming profiles and streaming profiles.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the Citrix environment.
- Manage Citrix patching, upgrades, and farm/site migrations, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Support Citrix environments hosted on VMware (preferred).
- Administer Windows Active Directory as part of Citrix operations.
Client-Facing & Advisory
- Work directly with clients and business stakeholders to gather requirements and design Citrix solutions that align with business objectives.
- Lead technical workshops, discussions, and conference calls with cross-functional teams.
- Provide engineering support for front-end applications hosted on Citrix platforms.
- Act as a trusted advisor, recommending permanent fixes, optimizations, and migration strategies.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, solution designs, and best practices to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Team & Operational Support
- Ensure all team objectives and service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
- Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, and guidance to team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure smooth integration and support of Citrix services.
- Document processes, policies, and procedures for operational consistency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Strong hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (LTSR/CR releases).
- Expertise in License Server, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix Studio, Delivery Controller, Citrix Director, and NetScaler.
- Proficiency with load evaluation, telemetry, monitoring, and performance dashboards.
- Experience with Citrix Profile Management, including roaming and streaming profiles.
- Experience with application virtualization (Citrix App Layering, AppSense, Microsoft App-V).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across modern Citrix environments.
