About the Role
Perspective Media is looking for a bilingual content creator to lead our social video output across English and Chinese platforms. You will handle concept development, on-ground direction, and filming in Singapore - our China-based partners manage post-production and platform operations on the Chinese side.
This role is as much about creative judgment and cross-border collaboration as it is about camera work. You understand what resonates on Douyin, Xiaohongshu, and WeChat Video - and you can brief a remote team clearly enough that nothing gets lost in translation.
What You'll Do
- Develop video concepts for both English-language and Chinese social platforms
- Direct and film in Singapore deliver clean rough cuts for post-production handoff
- Brief and coordinate with China partners on creative direction, formats, and timelines
- Maintain a shared content calendar and ensure delivery across both markets
- Monitor content performance and feed insights back into the creative process
- Stay current on trends across Douyin, Xiaohongshu, WeChat Video, Instagram, and
What We're Looking For
- Fluent in Mandarin and English - you will be writing briefs, giving feedback, and coordinating in both languages dailly
- Strong working knowledge of the Chinese social media landscape: platform culture, content norms, what performs and why
- Comfortable behind the camera - DSLR/mirrorless, basic lighting, independent shooting
- Able to deliver rough cuts using Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent
- Organised, proactive, and low-maintenance across time zones
- 2-4 years of relevant experience portfolio or reel required
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working with Chinese media companies, agencies, or MCNs
- Familiarity with the KOL/influencer ecosystem in China or SEA
- Background in B2B, tech, or business media
