Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Role Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing daily operations across the retail beauty business and the advisory/services arm, ensuring operational efficiency, scalability, and consistent execution of the company's strategic objectives.
The COO acts as the bridge between strategy and execution, working closely with the CEO to drive growth, profitability, and organizational structure.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee end-to-end operations across retail stores and corporate services
- Design and implement scalable processes, SOPs, and internal systems
- Ensure smooth coordination between sales, HR, finance, and compliance functions
Retail Performance Management
- Drive store performance, sales targets, and customer experience standards
- Monitor KPIs such as revenue per store, conversion rates, and staff productivity
- Optimize staffing, scheduling, and inventory management
Business & Financial Oversight
- Work closely with finance/bookkeeping on budgeting, cash flow, and cost control
- Improve operational margins and identify efficiency opportunities
- Support pricing strategies and revenue optimization
Team Management & Hiring
- Recruit, train, and manage department heads (Sales Manager, HR, Admin, etc.)
- Establish KPIs and performance management frameworks
- Build a strong execution culture across the organization
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Singapore regulations (MOM, ACRA, IRAS)
- Oversee internal controls, documentation, and risk mitigation processes
- Coordinate with compliance and corporate secretarial functions
Strategic Execution
- Translate CEO vision into actionable operational plans
- Support expansion (new stores, new services, partnerships)
- Lead implementation of new systems, tools, and automation
Requirements
- 7-12 years experience in operations, preferably in retail, F&B, or multi-unit businesses
- Proven experience managing teams and scaling operations
- Strong financial and commercial understanding
- Experience in Singapore business environment is highly preferred
- Leadership, problem-solving, and execution-focused mindset
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company
