Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage overall shipyard operations, including shipbuilding, repair, and conversion projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards
  • Oversee multiple ongoing vessel projects, monitoring schedules, productivity, and cost control
  • Drive P&L performance, including revenue growth and cost optimization
  • Implement and maintain strong Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards in line with Singapore regulations
  • Manage and lead cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, QA/QC, Procurement, and HSE
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ship owners, and offshore stakeholders
  • Oversee contract negotiations, variation orders, and claims management
  • Ensure compliance with classification societies and regulatory requirements
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and cost efficiency
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to improve productivity and yard utilization
  • Drive continuous improvement, digitalization, and process optimization initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 15-20 years of experience in marine shipyard / offshore industry
  • At least 5-10 years in senior leadership role (GM / Director / COO level)
  • Strong experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or offshore projects
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale operations and P&L responsibility
  • In-depth knowledge of: Shipyard operations Classification societies (ABS, DNV, LR, BV)Singapore safety regulations (MOM / WSH)
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing large workforce (including foreign workers & subcontractors)
  • Strong commercial acumen and client management skills
  • Experience in digital transformation / process improvement initiatives
