About the Role
Lead and integrate IPOS Group's communications, media, events, and marketing to strengthen IPOS Group's reputation and positioning as a Global IP Hub. Shape the organisation's narrative, raise brand visibility, and enable coordinated communications support across IPOS Group and its stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communications, Narrative & Branding
- Develop and drive the strategic planning, implementation, and review of branding and communications programmes to support IPOS Group's goals and objectives.
- Define and develop key messages and narratives for diverse audiences, ensuring consistency across all platforms and channels.
- Raise brand awareness and public image locally and internationally, positioning IPOS Group as a thought leader in the innovation ecosystem.
2. Media Relations & Public Communications
- Lead the communications function to develop and implement media and content strategies that enhance IPOS Group's reputation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and international media.
- Oversee proactive and reactive communications, including issues/crisis management and spokesperson preparation.
- Translate complex business and technical concepts into accessible messaging for various stakeholders.
3. Events Leadership & Engagement Platforms
- Lead the planning and delivery of flagship outreach platforms and events (e.g., IP Week @ SG, World IP Day) to drive engagement within the innovation community.
- Ensure operational excellence, stakeholder satisfaction, and continuous improvement in event delivery.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide communications and branding advisory support to internal business units on brand and communications matters.
- Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders through effective communications, publications and engagement platforms (e.g. Annual Reports and corporate publications).
5. Governance, Measurement & Team Leadership
- Establish clear metrics and dashboards to measure the effectiveness and ROI of branding, communications, and events.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team, cultivating a high-performance and innovative culture.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, governance standards, and the IPOS Code of Conduct.
Requirements
We are looking for a senior leader with the following profile:
- Minimum 15 years experience in communications, branding, marketing, or events, with at least 5-8 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in developing and executing integrated communications and branding strategies, including digital and social media.
- Strong public affairs, public relations, or communications background, with outstanding writing and editorial skills.
- Experience in managing high-profile events and campaigns in complex, dynamic environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and people leadership skills.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of innovation and intellectual property (IP) is an advantage.
- Degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, Business, or equivalent a Master's degree is a plus.
