Chemist / Laboratory Analyst (Agilent)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Chemist / Laboratory Analyst with hands-on experience in analytical testing and laboratory instrumentation, particularly in gas chromatography, headspace analysis, coulometry, titration, and transformer oil testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out accurate laboratory analyses, maintaining instrument performance, interpreting results, and supporting technical reporting for industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing using:
  -Agilent 7890A Gas Chromatograph
  -Agilent 7697A Headspace Sampler
  -Metrohm Coulometer
  -Metrohm Eco Titrator
  -Megger Oil Test Set

• Conduct chemical analysis of samples, including oil, moisture, acidity, and dissolved gas-related testing as required.

• Prepare, review, and validate test results for accuracy and completeness.

• Ensure proper sample handling, preparation, calibration, and instrument setup.

• Carry out instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs when needed.

• Maintain laboratory records, test logs, calibration records, and quality documentation.

• Support technical investigations, abnormal result reviews, and root cause analysis.

• Adhere to laboratory safety, quality control, and standard operating procedures.

• Assist in method development, verification, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Applied Science, or related field.

• Proven experience operating GC, headspace, coulometer, titrator, and oil testing equipment.

• Strong understanding of analytical testing principles and laboratory best practices.

• Ability to interpret test data and prepare clear technical reports.

• Good troubleshooting skills for laboratory instruments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in transformer oil testing, DGA-related work, or power equipment diagnostics.

• Familiarity with ASTM, IEC, or equivalent testing standards.

• Experience in laboratory quality systems, such as ISO/IEC 17025.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
