Job Overview

We are looking for a Chef Engineer with strong experience in Windows infrastructure, configuration management, automation and DevOps practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and automating Windows infrastructure environments using Chef and BigFix, while supporting infrastructure stability, standardization and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot Chef cookbooks, recipes and configurations for Windows infrastructure.
• Manage configuration, patching and software deployment across Windows server environments.
• Work with BigFix for endpoint/server management, patch management, software distribution and compliance.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and operational activities using scripting and DevOps practices.
• Support Windows infrastructure across development, testing and production environments.
• Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security and DevOps teams to support releases and environment changes.
• Implement configuration standards, automation and repeatable deployment processes.
• Participate in incident, problem and change management activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and configuration records.
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, automation and operational efficiency.
• Ensure infrastructure activities follow organizational security, compliance and change-management standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in Windows infrastructure administration and DevOps/automation environments.
• Hands-on experience with Chef including cookbooks, recipes and configuration management.
• Hands-on or working experience with IBM BigFix for patching, software deployment and endpoint/server management.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure, system administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with PowerShell or other scripting/automation technologies.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation and configuration management concepts.
• Familiarity with version-control systems such as Git.
• Experience working in enterprise infrastructure environments with structured change and incident-management processes.
• Good understanding of infrastructure security, patching and vulnerability remediation.

Good to Have

• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps or similar DevOps platforms.
• Knowledge of Ansible, Puppet or other configuration-management tools.
• Experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with Windows security hardening and enterprise endpoint management.
• Relevant certifications in Windows, DevOps, cloud or infrastructure technologies.
