COENS Energy is partnering with a well-established international shipping company to appoint an experienced Chartering Manager to strengthen its tanker commercial desk in Singapore. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of chartering activities, build strong market relationships, and contribute directly to the commercial performance of the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage chartering activities for tanker vessels (spot and/or period)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with charterers, brokers, and key market participants
- Identify and secure profitable employment opportunities in line with market conditions
- Negotiate charter parties and commercial terms to optimize revenue and minimize risk
- Monitor market trends, freight rates, and competitor activity to inform strategy
- Work closely with operations and post-fixture teams to ensure smooth execution
- Contribute to overall commercial strategy and fleet utilization planning
Requirements
- Proven experience in tanker chartering within a ship owner, operator, or brokerage environment
- Strong network within the tanker market (crude and/or product tankers)
- Solid understanding of charter party terms, freight markets, and commercial operations
- Confident negotiator with strong communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Driven, commercially minded, and results-oriented
