A global commodity company is looking for a Chartering Manager to join the business. This role is part of the Business&apos expansion plans in Singapore and will lead the strategic chartering operations, with a focus on optimizing shipping costs and enhancing logistics performance.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure dry bulk cargo contracts and charter party agreements.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with charterers, ship owners, and brokers.
- Plan and execute optimal voyage scheduling to maximize profitability.
- Coordinate with operations, technical, and commercial teams to ensure smooth vessel performance.
- Monitor market trends, freight rates, and industry developments to advise on strategic decisions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
- Prepare and analyze reports on voyage performance, market analysis, and freight rates.
- Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years experience as a Charterer or in a similar shipping/chartering role.
- Strong understanding of dry bulk cargo markets, shipping operations, and chartering practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze market data and make strategic decisions.
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- High level of commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team player with a proactive approach.
- Based in Singapore.
