To strengthen our dynamic Commercial and Chartering Team in Singapore, we are currently looking for a highly motivated Chartering Assistant. This entry-level position is immediately available, and we aim to fill it as soon as possible to support our growing dry bulk operations in this key maritime hub.

What are we looking for

Key Responsibilities

Core

  • Support daily chartering, operations and commercial activities for dry bulk vessels;
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of fixture data, voyage information and related documentation;
  • Coordinate between internal teams (chartering, operations, finance) and external parties (brokers, agents, owners).

Data entry & administrative support

  • Input and update voyage, fixture and cargo details into internal systems/databases;
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for tracking vessel positions, cargoes and commercial performance;
  • Verify data accuracy (e.g., cargo quantities, freight rates, laycan dates, ports).

Documentation & records

  • Assist in preparing key shipping documents (e.g., voyage instructions, laytime calculations, freight invoices, statements of facts);
  • Update and maintain records in Voyage Management Systems (e.g., voyage estimates, P&L tracking).

Coordination & communication

  • Liaise with shipbrokers, port agents and charterers for routine updates;
  • Monitor and communicate vessel positions, ETA/ETD, and cargo status to the team.

Market & research support

  • Assist in basic market research (e.g., tracking freight rates, vessel availability, cargo flows for dry bulk commodities like iron ore, coal, grains);
  • Compile daily/weekly reports on market trends or fleet performance.

Inventory & compliance support

  • Help track bunker fuels, vessel performance data, or demurrage/dispatch calculations;
  • Ensure data complies with company policies and basic regulatory requirements (e.g., IMO, sanctions screening).

General support

  • Provide ad-hoc administrative assistance to the Commercial team;
  • Contribute to process improvements in data management and reporting.

Job Requirements

What do you bring

  • Formal education: we welcome motivated recent graduates (e.g., from Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, Economics, or related fields) eager to start in dry bulk shipping;
  • No prior experience required - demonstrate these through studies, projects, or initiatives;
  • Languages: proficient in English (spoken and written).

Preferred Skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail for accurate data entry, verification and documentation;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office software;
  • Analytical mindset with numerical comfort for basic market tracking and calculations;
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
  • Reliable team player with integrity and resilience under pressure;
  • Basic knowledge of dry bulk shipping or interest in industry trends (e.g., Baltic Dry Index);
  • Pursuit of certifications like Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS).
