About the Role

We are appointing one Executive Director to the Board of the Company who will also serve as Chief Executive Officer. The candidate will carry Board-level responsibility and accountability for the sound and prudent management of the Company. In the early stage, the role places strong emphasis on building a high-quality, compliant operating capability, establishing trust with customers and the regulator, and ensuring excellent service delivery — alongside contributing to business development, product development and regional growth. The candidate will additionally hold overall executive leadership of the Company and lead key functional areas and support the CEO across operations, delivery and control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Board-level leadership and contribute to the sound and prudent management of the Company, ensuring readiness for, and ongoing compliance with, MAS licensing requirements.
  • Establish and manage the Company's regulated payment services operation in Singapore, including building scalable operating models, governance frameworks, and reporting structures aligned with regulatory expectations and Group operational standards.
  • Oversee the Company's regulatory, risk and operational control frameworks (including AML/CFT, outsourcing/third-party risk, technology risk and business continuity), by working closely with the Compliance Officer and the Board-supervised committees.
  • Ensure that key risks (including AML/CFT, fraud, operational and technology risks) are appropriately identified, assessed and mitigated across the Company.
  • Drive regional growth by identifying commercial opportunities and positioning the Company effectively within the cross-border payments and e-commerce ecosystem.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key merchants, banking and settlement partners, the regulator, and other stakeholders, acting as a senior escalation point for operational and service matters.
  • Lead business development and commercial strategy, including pipeline management, partner solutioning, pricing and long-term revenue growth, in collaboration with the Group and senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, customer servicing and operational delivery quality.
  • Provide effective local oversight and accountability for the technology and security of the Company's services, coordinating with the Group's technology team to ensure proper local control.
  • Build and lead a high-performing local team through coaching, mentorship, cross-border collaboration, and a strong culture of accountability, compliance and execution.
  • Demonstrates strong integrity, sound judgement and the ability to operate with independence in regulatory matters.
  • As this role forms part of the senior management/Board of an entity applying for a Major Payment Institution licence, the successful candidate will be required to participate in the Company's MPI licence application process, including any interview or fit-and-proper assessment conducted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The candidate must satisfy MAS fit and proper criteria, including in relation to integrity, competence, reputation and financial soundness.

Qualifications and requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a managerial capacity in payments, fintech, e-commerce/cross-border payments, banking, or related financial services sectors.
  • Strong background in operations, delivery and customer-service leadership, ideally in a regulated environment.
  • Experience building or scaling operating models and delivery teams, preferably for a start-up or newly-licensed entity.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to business growth, including client/merchant acquisition, partnerships, or commercial strategy.
  • Experience working across multiple APAC jurisdictions, including cross-border and cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of risk, governance and the MAS regulatory environment (familiarity with the Payment Services Act and MPI obligations is an advantage).
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on, suited to the demands of an early-stage business.
  • Sufficient experience, competencies and influence to exercise effective oversight and control over the Company's business activities and staff.
  • Eligibility to serve as a director of, and to be based in, a MAS-licensed entity in Singapore.
