Core Responsibilities
Team Management: Direct, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of carpenters and apprentices.
Project Planning: Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan fabrication and site installation.
Quality Control: Inspect finished work to ensure it meets strict quality standards and client specifications.
Safety Oversight: Enforce all Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Resource Management: Order necessary materials and equipment while monitoring budgets to minimize waste.
Problem Solving: Identify on-site issues and recommend practical adjustments to improve productivity or overcome structural challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the trade, with deep knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and building codes.
Leadership: Proven ability to motivate a team and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, typically paired with a recognized carpentry apprenticeship or vocational certification.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with site engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
