Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Analyzing blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measuring, marking, and cutting materials (wood, drywall, metal) to required dimensions.
- Building frameworks for structures, including floor joists, wall studs, roof rafters, and stairs.
- Installing doors, windows, cabinets, molding, drywall, insulation, and siding.
- Sanding, staining, varnishing, and installing fixtures like locks and door handles.
- Repairing or replacing damaged frameworks, structures, and fixtures in residential or commercial buildings.
- Safely operating hand tools (chisels, levels) and power tools (saws, drills, sanders).
- Ensuring compliance with local building codes and health/safety regulations.
- Proficiency in carpentry techniques, materials, and blueprint reading.
- Strong arithmetic skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
