Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to accurately understand project requirements
• Measure and calculate material sizes and quantities needed for tasks
• Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials such as fiberglass according to precise measurements
• Build window frames, doors, staircases, and structural frames using raw or pre-constructed materials
• Lay out flooring, roofing, or drywall ensuring surfaces are level and properly aligned
• Carve, assemble, and install furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items at designated locations
• Inspect sites to identify repair or maintenance needs and perform necessary fixes
• Construct scaffolding and other temporary structures safely and securely

Required competencies and certifications

• Proven experience as a carpenter
• Hands-on experience working with carpentry materials
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and installation methods
• Proficient in operating electrical and manual tools including powered saws, hammers, and rulers
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Commitment to following safety guidelines consistently

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Ability to understand English and Chinese to facilitate communication and comprehension of instructions
