This role is based out of Singapore and has the unique opportunity to have a direct impact on Wise's card product and our cardholders, globally.
As our Scheme Compliance Specialist, you will be expected to:
- Keep abreast of scheme requirements and changes impacting us, and advise the product stakeholders accordingly
- Translating scheme rules for Product, Engineering, Operational and Business teams into understandable requirements
- Maintaining compliance registry/matrix to ensure Wise products are compliant with Scheme rules as well as horizon scanning and planning for upcoming mandates.
- Empowering teams with tools and knowledge through collaboration and training sessions to ensure compliance is a key part of the product development and maintenance processes.
- Lead and manage engagements with the schemes in a manner that safeguards and advances the company's core interests.
- Support product on requirements and scope of change, in order to comply with relevant requirements in the context of issues and problems that are raised during normal business activities
- Work hand in hand with product stakeholders to identify and manage any financial risk including managing extensions or waivers.
- Develop, implement, and execute compliance testing/monitoring, continuous assurance, and reporting
Key Skills required to succeed:
- Project Management: Experience in managing project-based initiatives, which includes prioritisation of tasks and impact analysis.
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Capability to independently investigate transaction processing behaviors and identify areas for improvement.
- Understanding of Card Payment Systems: Deep knowledge of the card payment landscape, including Visa and Mastercard regulations.
- Mandates Interpretation: Ability to interpret and translate scheme rules for Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business teams, into actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in monitoring and building health and compliance metrics.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with card product stakeholders and scheme partners to provide support and insights.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to support product improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements based on findings, and contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of compliance experience in payments (background in regulatory compliance/core compliance)
- Experience in card payments (issuer/acquirer/merchant or international scheme)
- Experience collaborating and liaising with regulatory bodies/international schemes/partnerships in a complex and fast environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of payment processing systems and technologies.
- Certification in data analysis or related fields.
