C&I Engineer

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve instrument failures to restore normal operations. Respond to technical inquiries from operations personnel and provide engineering solutions. Follow control and instrumentation (C&I) work instructions, proposing improvements when necessary. Lead and ensure timely completion of shutdown activities for instrumentation. Collaborate with different teams to coordinate maintenance work across functions. Conduct risk assessments prior to work commencement and on-site evaluations for planned and unplanned work. Monitor and manage inventory of critical spare parts for instrumentation, ensuring availability to minimize outages. Update and establish new inventories/catalogs as required. Contribute technical input during procurement processes for materials and services to ensure compliance with technical requirements. Identify and implement improvements in instrumentation engineering to enhance operations and equipment reliability. Supervise on-site contractors, ensuring adherence to safe and quality work practices. Actively participate in relevant meetings and initiatives to support business needs. Input data into the Computerized Materials and Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for accurate maintenance history. Provide maintenance activity inputs to the Planning Engineer for effective consolidation.

Requirements

• Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electronics and Electrical Engineering with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in instrumentation, or a diploma in the same fields with at least seven (7) years of relevant experience. Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as BSI, ISO27001, ANSI, IEC, IEEE, and similar. Strong interpersonal skills ability to work collaboratively with diverse management levels and staff. Hands-on experience with field instrumentation and various sensors. Proficient in power plant DCS and HMI systems, with preferred experience in ABB Advant DCS or GE Alspa DCS. Proficient in any power plant PLC control systems. Knowledge of P&ID, loop diagrams, and process functional flow diagrams, with an understanding of gas and steam turbine operations and protection concepts. Cybersecurity knowledge in Operational Technology is an advantage.
