Buyer
- Working Location: Jurong East
- Working Days: Monday - Friday
- Working Hours: 8:30am - 5:15pm
- Salary range: SGD 3,000 to SGD 4,500 + SGD250 Transport Allowance , 13th month
Basic Functions
Responsible for purchasing raw materials, purchase parts, machinery, supplies and all other goods and services used in Production system at the most favorable price, quality, and delivery.
Specific Responsibilities
System Support
- Evaluate all requisitions, particularly engineering change implementations to minimize excess and obsolete inventory
- Maintain and update databases of available suppliers and prices information
- Maintain purchasing documentation system to comply with ISO requirements, GPP
Operational support
- Keep abreast on supply chain issues affecting the line (materials shortage)
- Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve lines issues due to supply chain
- Work closely with QA & Engineering and liaise with affected suppliers to resolve line issues due to components be it quality or drawing issues etc.
- Liaise between suppliers and Subcontractor on a regular basis
- Respond to any ad hoc demand requirements from customer when their unit in the WIP
Qualifications / Requirements
- Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Marine Engineering/Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience or
- Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Marine Engineering/Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience
- Preferably, a professional purchasing management certificate
- Knowledge of MRP/SAP system is a must
