Job Description

Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Systems Specialist to lead the development of our internal digital ecosystem. This is a strategic role reporting directly to the Finance & Admin Manager / Managing Director, positioned as a process improvement partner rather than general IT support. You will be responsible for automating workflows, managing data integrations between platforms (Business Central, InfoTech, AppSheet), and ensuring our financial and operational data is seamless and accurate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workflow Design & Optimization: Work with Finance, Admin, Project Operations, and Management teams to gather requirements, map existing workflows, and translate pain points into practical digital solutions.

  • System Integration: Develop and manage API connections between InfoTech (HR/Payroll) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

  • AppSheet Development: Design, develop, and maintain custom low-code applications via Google AppSheet to streamline field data collection and internal approvals.

  • Data Automation & Governance: Build automated pipelines to migrate data from Excel/Legacy sheets into Business Central. Support data governance by defining ownership, master data structures, and validation rules to ensure data quality.

  • Documentation & Maintainability: Prepare and maintain system documentation, data flow diagrams, user guides, and change logs to ensure system maintainability and reduce dependency on specific individuals.

  • Change Management: Provide user training and support to ensure the successful adoption of new workflows, applications, and reporting tools across the company.

  • Infrastructure Oversight: Act as the internal product owner for our ERP (Business Central), ensuring the system is configured to meet evolving business needs.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • ERP Expertise: Proven experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (AL code knowledge is a plus familiarity with Power Automate for BC is essential).

  • Low-Code Expertise: Proficiency in Google AppSheet or Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Integration Skills: Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and the use of middleware or custom scripts to link disparate software systems.

  • Data Management: Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Macros) for data cleansing and preparation.

  • Business Analysis: Ability to create data flow diagrams and technical documentation that non-technical stakeholders can understand.

Experience & Attributes:

  • Process-Oriented: A strong focus on business process improvement and automation rather than traditional hardware/IT support.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments (Project Ops, Finance, etc.) to identify operational gaps.

  • Self-Starter: Proven ability to work independently and manage the full lifecycle of a digital project from requirement gathering to documentation and training.
