The Position

The Position

Typically studying in a field related to Analytics, Data Science, or Engineering, the Business Support - Digital Intern will be assigned a variety of tasks relevant to site Operational Excellence and Digital projects. Reporting to the Head of Digitalisation, the objective of this assignment is for the intern to practically apply academic studies in a Roche setting while learning more about the organization's technical operations.

The intern will support site initiatives on key activities such as Predictive Analytics, AI-related projects, and the design of End User Manufacturing applications. Assignments typically involve supporting the activities of regular employees, such as entry-level data modeling, reporting, and coordinating technical troubleshooting. The length of the internship will vary according to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Translation & Project Support: Act as a digital translator to drive the implementation of key digital use cases and contribute to manufacturing technology initiatives.

• Requirements & Documentation: Define and manage user requirements and backlogs author detailed User Requirement Specifications (URS) and design complex process or data flow maps.

• Data Analytics: Utilize existing data pipelines to create Multivariate Data Analysis (MVDA) models and combine raw datasets to refine data models.

• Application Development: Support the development of manufacturing prototypes (such as on the Low Code platform) and assist with site-specific applications like Autoclave or Manufacturing Yield tools.

• Validation & Quality: Support Computerised System Validation (CSV) during system qualification activities and ensure high standards of data quality.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with system owners, site Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and global teams to resolve technical issues and support workshops across Manufacturing and Safety departments.

Academic Requirement

• Educational Background: Undergraduate Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical, Computing Engineering, Data Science, or an equivalent field.

• Experience: 0 to 3 years of work experience prior experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical operating environment is a significant plus.

• Availability: Available for a duration that meets business needs and internship program requirements.

Key Competencies Required

• Technical Acumen: Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and reporting (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and interest in AI/Predictive Analytics.

• Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills: Strong numerical and analytical ability to turn raw data into actionable insights and resolve complex technical challenges.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills ability to act as a vital liaison between business process owners and technical developers.

• Proactive Mindset: A can-do attitude with a commitment to excellence, often operating beyond the defined job scope to add value.

• Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work independently while being a motivated team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Creative Thinking: Not afraid to challenge the status quo, speak up, and share innovative ideas for process improvement
