The Business Process Intern will support the Business Process Management (BPM) team within the Commercial Function, contributing to cross-functional initiatives that span Business Development, Tendering, Commercial & Contracts Management, Subcontract Management, Supply Chain, and Data Management. The intern will help streamline processes, improve data quality, and implement tools and best practices that support commercial and supply chain operations excellence as well as enterprise-wide integration.

This is a 6-month internship starting in December/January with option for extension. Candidate must be able to commit fully during the internship duration.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

Process Mapping and Design

  • Identify and document current processes across departments in the function using visual tools such as swimlane diagrams
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design, document, and test improved process models that promote efficiency and standardization

Tool and System Development

  • Support the BPM team in specifying, documenting, and testing new system functionality or digital tools that enhance commercial and supply chain operations
  • Assist in improving or automating processes through digital solutions aligned with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, vendor catalogues, contract lifecycle tools)
  • Support the design and development of BI dashboards and reports that enable visibility into key commercial metrics and supply chain operational performance

Data Analytics and Reporting

  • Extract, manipulate, and analyze data to generate insights for management decision-making, including spend analysis, vendor performance, and KPI tracking
  • Visualize key metrics and trends through intuitive dashboards that support data-driven decision-making and generates actionable business insights
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving data accuracy, completeness, and governance across systems

Stakeholder Engagement and Change Support

  • Facilitate alignment among cross-functional stakeholders when implementing new processes or tools
  • Support training activities and user onboarding for new processes, tools, and system enhancements

Integration Support

  • Assist in aligning job scopes, roles, and reporting lines to support new business processes. Participate in commercial and supply chain transformation projects and ensure business process considerations are incorporated
  • Continuous Improvement and Governance Contribute to process governance efforts to embed standard practices and compliance within the department workflows. Document lessons learned and support the BPM team in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field
  • Training or certification in LEAN, Six Sigma, or business process management is a plus
  • Experience or coursework in business process mapping (e.g., swimlanes, BPMN)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables); familiarity with SQL is an advantage
  • Exposure to ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle) is an advantage
  • Strong data handling and reporting capabilities

  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment
  • Foundational understanding of business processes, ERP systems, and cross-functional workflows (e.g., supply chain, contracts, commercial operations)
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Awareness of process improvement principles (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and how data supports operational decision-making
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and in teams
  • Professional fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Interest in energy, marine, offshore, or project-based industries is a plus
