Job Description
We're seeking a senior Business Manager to partner with the Asia Pacific leadership team and drive commercial and financial performance across the region.
The Role
This is a highly hands-on role providing strategic insight and commercial leadership to support the firm's APAC strategy, practice group plans, and overall business objectives.
You will play a critical role in improving regional profitability, supporting business planning and performance management, and delivering decision support across offices, teams, clients, and matters. Acting as the finance partner to a Global Sector Head, you will provide clear, actionable analysis and insight to support performance and growth.
You will also lead and develop a Senior Pricing Analyst and Finance Analyst, ensuring consistent, high-quality financial support across Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Business Partnering & Financial Management
- Partner with the APAC Leadership Team and Asia Pacific partners to strengthen financial management, with a strong focus on profitability
- Deliver in-depth financial and commercial analysis by office, team, matter, and client
- Review resourcing models and the regional cost base to optimise service delivery and utilisation
- Lead budgeting, re-forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting within a matrix environment
- Commercial & Strategic Support
- Provide pricing support for bids, tenders, and client proposals
- Support delivery of the firm's strategy and APAC business plan
- Prepare financial and commercial analysis to support partner appointments, team hires and promotions
- Deliver insights to support ad-hoc initiatives, including office expansion and relocation projects
- Firm-wide Collaboration
- Operate as part of the broader Finance business management and decision support team, ensuring consistency of approach and effective use of data
- Contribute to the development of firm-wide solutions, processes, and best practices
This is a full-time, permanent role that can be based in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, or Melbourne.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A minimum of 10 years experience in a senior management or operational role with profit centre accountability, ideally within a professional services or leading global organisation
- Significant international experience
- Accounting qualification with an MBA or equivalent
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen
- Background in consultancy, business strategy, or professional services (preferred)
- Proven experience working across cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, BD, and Finance
- Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
- Ability to travel across APAC when required by the business
