Business Development Specialist (Freight Forwarding)

Our client, a well-known company is looking for candidates for the position of Business Development Specialist (Freight Forwarding).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and acquire new customers within targeted market segments.
• Manage and grow an assigned customer portfolio and drive share-of-wallet growth.
• Generate sales leads through prospecting, networking, referrals, and market intelligence.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and CRM database, preparing accurate forecasts.
• Conduct customer visits and business presentations to establish strong relationships.
• Prepare quotations and commercial proposals, ensuring pricing competitiveness.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) performance and support timely payment collection.
• Coordinate with various teams to ensure smooth execution of customer requirements.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior sales team members when needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Degree in Business or Logistics related discipline.
• Experience in the Freight Forwarding or Shipping Line industry would be of added advantage.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Strong understanding of Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Cross Border Truck, Contract Logistics, and Customs Brokerage services.
• Experience in customer acquisition and business development.
