Overview
Our client is seeking a commercially driven Assistant Manager – Project Logistics to grow and manage a portfolio of Out-of-Gauge (OOG) and breakbulk clients. This is a front-facing role with a strong emphasis on business development, complemented by key account management.
You will play a key role in expanding the company's footprint across sectors such as oil & gas, EPC, renewables, and heavy industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate key verticals (EPC contractors, energy, infrastructure)
- Lead commercial discussions, RFQs, and tender submissions for project cargo
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to develop competitive logistics solutions
- Manage and grow existing key accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Act as the main point of contact for clients on project logistics requirements
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts
- Maintain long-term relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of complex shipments
- Provide accurate pricing, cost analysis, and margin management for project bids
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and client requirements
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in project logistics / freight forwarding, with strong exposure to OOG / breakbulk cargo
- Proven track record in hunter sales role within logistics or supply chain
- Strong network within EPC contractors, oil & gas, or heavy industry clients is highly advantageous
- Solid understanding of project cargo operations, chartering, and multimodal transport solutions
- Commercially savvy with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a target-driven environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience handling large-scale industrial projects (e.g. modules, turbines, heavy lift cargo)
- Exposure to sectors such as oil & gas, renewables (wind/solar), mining, or infrastructure
- Familiarity with regional markets across Southeast Asia
