About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Development Manager with deep domain expertise in wholesale trading and cross-border commerce to lead strategic growth initiatives. This role will focus on expanding international trading networks, securing high-value contracts, and strengthening supply chain partnerships across multiple regions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial judgment, proven international trading experience, and the ability to independently drive revenue growth at a strategic level.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business expansion strategies in wholesale trading across regional and global markets
- Identify and establish new trading channels, supplier networks, and bulk distribution partnerships
- Lead complex commercial negotiations involving international suppliers, buyers, and logistics partners
- Manage end-to-end trading cycles, including sourcing, pricing, contract execution, and delivery coordination
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and long-term contract acquisition
- Conduct market intelligence, demand forecasting, and pricing analysis for traded goods
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, Incoterms, and import/export requirements
- Work closely with management on strategic planning, financial projections, and risk management
- Represent the company in business negotiations, trade fairs, and industry engagements
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or related discipline from a recognized institution
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years specifically in wholesale trading.
- Proven track record in cross-border business development and deal execution
- Hands-on experience in import/export operations, supplier sourcing, and bulk trading transactions
- Strong understanding of trade documentation, logistics coordination, and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-value client relationships and negotiate commercial contracts independently
- Experience working across multiple international markets (e.g., ASEAN, South Asia, Middle East, or similar regions)
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- This position requires specialised expertise in wholesale trading and international business development.
