Business Development Manager based in Singapore

Role Overview
To provide supporting leadership role for SBUM, by taking an active role in the mentoring and coaching of sales team members in achieving profitable sales growth. Additionally, to develop KOL and lead surgeon relationships within assigned territory.

What will you be doing

  • Overall management of assigned territory as well as providing support for others team members.
  • Participate in the sales budgeting process for the creation of detailed sales plan to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Increase contact with lead surgeons within their territory.
  • New account development for Robotics platform
  • Provide technical and sales training to new/junior sales personnel.
  • Provide input for territory planning/restructuring.
  • Assist Marketing in new product launches or existing product positioning by advising on sales strategies.
  • Provide feedback on business processes as they relate to sales activities and processes
  • Understanding the direction of the business and having a clear idea of where the business will be achieved.
  • Establish relationships with Strategic Accounts
  • Identify, qualify, and solicit new accounts in accordance with Singapore's Business Unit goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement key opinion former strategies and keeping strong relationships with key opinion leaders in the Singapore and MY market.
  • Maintain high level of knowledge on the assigned product range, roadmaps, competitor product, pricing, market share and key product differentiation.
  • Report on business prospects, competitor activities, market trends and sales performance within the assigned markets.
  • Continually develop excellence in product and technique knowledge, and selling skills of the team,by continual coaching and training during field visits as well as drawing on other resources within the company.
  • Ensuring that marketing activities are suitably followed up within the assigned market and that the investment of the business is returned via the sales effort.
  • To contribute to the forward strategy of the assigned business as defined by the Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly business reporting requirements and in the annual budgeting processes.
  • Work with Management team to improve the overall effectiveness and optimisation of business processes.
  • Ensure team and Export Distributors complete all compliance training modules/requirements within the set timeframes.
  • Enforce compliance to company and industry regulation.
  • The market in which the job operates includes all hospitals within the assigned territory. There are severe constraints on the customers ability to purchase product and an increasing number of competitors. The assigned product is a steadily evolving discipline with continued introduction of new products, techniques, and practices. The environment is increasingly regulated.
  • To always act in a responsible manner to avoid risk to self or to the company and comply with the workplace safety and health and security policy.
  • Any other duties involved within the role and/or the tasks as assigned from time to time.

What will you need to be successful

  • Above 5 years experience in healthcare/medical device sales management

  • 3-4 years in any sales management position with at least four direct reports or

  • 3-5 years in Orthopaedic/Endoscopy sales

  • Ability to present financial information
