BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Job Summary

Lead business growth by identifying and securing new clients through targeted outreach and industry research. Collaborate cross-functionally to develop profitable logistics solutions, manage client accounts, and analyze market trends to drive revenue and retention.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new clients through cold calling, networking, and industry research to drive sales growth
• Prepare and present commercial proposals, Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and pricing models to win business
• Collaborate with operations, pricing, and finance teams to design realistic, profitable client logistics solutions
• Maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships through regular service reviews to ensure retention
• Monitor competitor activities, industry trends, and trade lane developments to identify new growth opportunities
• Track sales performance metrics, update sales pipelines, and report revenue forecasts to senior management

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, commerce, or arts
• 3 to 8+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in freight forwarding, 3PL, or contract logistics

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools to support sales and client management activities
• Understanding of air, sea, and land freight, warehousing operations, and trade lanes
• Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and data analysis skills applied to sales and client engagement
• Commercial acumen including knowledge of profit and loss (P&L) targets, pricing margins, and contract terms
