Business Development Manager APAC (Digital Employee Benefits / Insurtech Platform)

Our client is a global leader in digital employee benefits and insurtech, providing a platform that empowers insurance brokers, agents, and employers to compare, configure, benchmark, and administer group employee benefits efficiently. The platform serves as a key enablement tool across the insurance and employee benefits ecosystem.
Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead revenue growth across APAC
1.Revenue & Market Expansion
- Drive new business acquisition for platform subscriptions and usage.
- Identify, engage, and convert opportunities with insurance intermediaries, brokers, and employee benefits consultants.
- Develop and execute country-level go-to-market strategies aligned with regional objectives.
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets (subscription, usage-based, and enterprise deals).
2. Partner & Broker Development
- Onboard brokers, agents, and partners onto the platform.
- Educate partners on: Platform functionality and product offerings
- Value proposition and market differentiation
- Enable partners to successfully position and sell the platform to employers.
3. Sales Pipeline & Deal Management
- Own the full end-to-end sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, demos, proposals, negotiation, and closure.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline using CRM tools.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Product, Operations, Commercial) on pricing, commercials, and solution structuring.
- Support renewals, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
4. Market Intelligence & Feedback Loop
Gather market insights on:
- Competitor platforms and offerings
- Insurer products and pricing trends
- Broker and employer pain points
Provide structured feedback to Product, Tech, and Leadership teams to improve:
- Product features
- Local market fit
- Pricing and packaging strategies
5. Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement
- Represent the company at industry events, broker meetings, insurer briefings, and partner sessions.
- Build strong working relationships with:
- Insurers and intermediaries
- Third-party administrators (TPAs)
- HRTech and payroll platforms
- Support strategic partnerships and in-market pilot programs.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience
- 48 years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships.
- Strong background in one or more of the following:
- Employee Benefits / Group Insurance
- Insurance brokerage or agency distribution
- Insurtech, Fintech, or HRTech platforms
- Proven track record of B2B sales and revenue generation.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Insurance-related certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
