Support on the shipyard and/or technology side of newbuilding projects to ensure that the vessels and/or technologies are procured at competitive commercial terms consistent with any project approved parameters
Work with Business Development and Legal Division to support newbuilding contracts in order to ensure they safeguard AET's interests
Establish relationships with technology teams within Client organisations, technology companies and technology incubator or investment groups, with a focus on marine emissions reduction or carbon capture technology that has or is about to reach a commercialisation stage.
Undertake effective collaboration with regional and functional teams for optimal execution of business plans/projects/bids
Ensure that excellent relationships are maintained with classification societies and shipyards for continuous flow of industry information
Leads, manage or participate in applicable business development projects or initiatives as required and guided by Director
To provide timely information for the formulation of decisions towards CAPEX targets
Lead and ensure a good team spirit, common understanding of team goals and increase in cross functional learning.
Prepare relevant reports and papers for submission to Director for onward communication/reporting to AET ELT/Board/shareholders
Shipbuilding and Technology tasks assigned by the Management
To comply with Company's policies and Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (CoBE)
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field preferred (other disciplines include Economics, Law, Finance, Maritime), MBA or Master's Degree in Maritime related discipline/member of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers or equivalent is an added advantage
Experience: At least 10 years of relevant technology, shipbuilding/ship management and commercial experience
Specialized knowledge: Experience in shipbuilding contract negotiation and management, good financial acumen and basic understanding of financial modelling is essential, some working knowledge of business and contract law, shipyard Management Experience, commercial Project/Business Development Experience, able to develop business case & financial modelling/analysis, good presentation, project management and negotiation skills
