About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Controls and Technical Accounting Manager, APAC with a leading global US medical device company. This pivotal role is instrumental in driving standardization and consistency of internal controls across the region while partnering with cross-functional teams to strengthen governance, compliance, and financial integrity. You will play a key role in shaping the control framework for the business, ensuring alignment with global standards and supporting strategic decision-making through sound technical accounting insight.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Business Controls and Technical Accounting Director, you will ensure a robust internal control environment across APAC by leading the design, implementation, and monitoring of control procedures. You will enhance financial reporting processes, assess and optimize internal controls, and champion automation and best practices to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency. The role involves close collaboration with business and functional leaders, as well as internal and external auditors, to drive process improvement and foster a strong culture of financial discipline and accountability across diverse markets.

Requirements
You are a qualified accountant with a degree in Accounting or Finance and have at least 10 years of hands-on accounting or audit experience, ideally gained within a US MNC. You possess strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404 requirements, and internal control frameworks, with the ability to apply complex accounting concepts in a practical, business-oriented manner. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, enabling you to influence and build trust across regional and global teams. You demonstrate high integrity, strong project management capabilities, and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required to liaise effectively with Mandarin-speaking counterparts, while proficiency in another language, such as Japanese, will be an advantage.
