About Business China

Business China is a Singapore non-profit organisation established in 2007 by Singapore's Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Our mission is to develop premier bilingual business programmes and networks, to generate interest in and strengthen understanding of the latest developments in China.

About the Role

Business China will be marking its 20th Anniversary in 2027. As part of the celebrations, the organisation is producing a commemorative book chronicling its history, milestones and impact over the past two decades. This role is engaged as a contract basis to support the research, development and production of the book.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Support the research, writing and editing of content for the 20th anniversary commemorative book, including historical materials, interviews, photographs and key milestones.

2. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, past and present staff, partners and alumni to gather stories, testimonials and materials for the book.

3. Liaise with designers, editors, printers and other external vendors to support the production and publishing timeline of the book.

4. Organise and maintain archival materials, photographs and records relevant to the project.

5. Provide administrative and coordination support for project timelines, budgets and vendor management.

6. Support other 20th anniversary related initiatives and events, where the role is taken on a full-time basis.

7. May also be required to support other publicity related work as assigned.

8. Any other duties, tasks or responsibilities designated by Chief Executive Officer or Management Team.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Diploma or Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, History, Publishing or a related discipline.

2. Prior experience in writing, editing, publishing or content development, preferably in a corporate, nonprofit or media setting.

3. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, with strong written proficiency in both languages required to support research, writing and translation of content for the book.

4. Meticulous and organised, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines.

5. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

6. Immediate availability or short notice preferred.
