Responsibilities

Our team focuses on global architecture and complex system design. With rapid business growth, we offer both significant technical challenges and strong opportunities for professional development. In this team, you will:- Gain exposure to cutting-edge global data center architectures and methodologies, broaden your technical perspective, and build extensive hands-on experience.- Contribute to the development of core middleware and frameworks, deepen your understanding of their underlying principles and implementation details, and grow into a technical expert in the field.- Collaborate with a group of talented and highly motivated colleagues in a flat, efficient team environment that values diversity and complementary strengths.

Responsibilities- Lead the technical design, development, optimization, architectural evolution, and long-term planning of core runtime components for the EventBus system.- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, continuously advance the governance of event-driven architecture across TikTok, and optimize existing systems and business architectures.- Research and apply emerging technologies, using appropriate technical solutions to support product globalization and address the challenges of operating TikTok services across multiple data centers worldwide.- Leverage strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills to lead or contribute to the successful delivery of high-priority cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Go, or Python, with strong coding practices and a commitment to code quality.

- Experience with one or more databases, messaging middleware technologies, or service frameworks, along with an understanding of their underlying principles and appropriate use cases.

- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems, an understanding of the technical challenges associated with event-driven architecture, and familiarity with common business architecture design principles.

- Strong business and data acumen, with the ability to understand and abstract complex business requirements and effectively analyze and solve problems.

- Strong teamwork and communication skills, a positive and proactive mindset, a strong sense of ownership, and a high degree of self-motivation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience building your own technical products or open-source projects, or a track record of contribution to the open-source community.

- Knowledge of or hands-on experience with message queues, as well as practical experience implementing and governing event-driven architectures.

- Extensive experience in business architecture design, with the ability to develop a comprehensive and accurate understanding of business needs and translate them into effective architectural solutions.

- Experience developing global products or services, with a clear understanding of-or hands-on experience applying-business architecture and design principles in global, multi-data-center environments.

- Experience using AI to improve engineering productivity, including the use of AI agents for system design, development, operations, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
