Job Title:
Functional Business Analyst Stablecoin & Digital Ledger (BEACON Program)
Job Purpose:
The Functional Business Analyst will support the BEACON (Blockchain-Enabled Architecture for Connectivity and Optimised Network) Program, focusing on Stablecoin capabilities and Swift Digital Ledger initiatives. The role bridges business, operations, compliance, and technology teams to define functional requirements, operating models, and process flows for programmable settlement and digital asset transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional & Business Analysis
- Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements for Stablecoin use cases including Pay/Transfer, Receive, Convert, and Hold.
- Translate regulatory, operational, and business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
- Define end-to-end transaction lifecycle for stablecoin payments and Swift Digital Ledger-based settlement.
Stablecoin & Digital Asset Coverage
- Support stablecoin features such as wallet operations, conversion (fiat stablecoin), liquidity handling, and reconciliation.
- Analyse integration requirements between core banking systems, wallets, blockchain networks, and payment rails.
- Define business rules for transaction limits, fees, FX, settlement timing, and exception handling.
Swift Digital Ledger & Programmable Settlement
- Support Swift's Digital Ledger initiative by defining orchestration, settlement logic, and cross-ledger interoperability requirements.
- Document functional flows for programmable settlement, atomic transactions, and multi-leg payment scenarios.
- Collaborate with Swift, internal platform teams, and external vendors on ledger connectivity and messaging standards.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Work with Compliance and Risk teams to embed AML, KYC, sanctions screening, and regulatory controls into functional designs.
- Ensure requirements align with regulatory expectations for digital assets and stablecoins across jurisdictions.
- Support audit, control, and operational readiness documentation.
Stakeholder & Delivery Support
- Act as a key liaison between business users, product owners, architects, developers, and QA teams.
- Support UAT planning, test scenario definition, and defect triage.
- Contribute to pilot launches, proofs of concept (POCs), and phased rollouts under the BEACON program.
Key Skills & Experience:
Domain Expertise
- Strong experience as a Business / Functional Analyst in banking, payments, or financial services.
- Hands-on exposure to stablecoins, digital assets, blockchain, or distributed ledger technology (DLT).
- Understanding of payments, settlement, clearing, and treasury operations.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Experience documenting functional specifications, BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and BPMN flows.
- Familiarity with Swift messaging, ISO 20022, and payment orchestration concepts.
- Knowledge of wallets, tokenisation, smart contracts (functional level), and ledger interoperability is an advantage.
Regulatory & Control Knowledge
- Working knowledge of AML/KYC, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and digital asset governance.
- Experience embedding controls and compliance requirements into system design.
