ServiceNow Business Analyst

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison between client business users and firm's technical teams
  • Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops, design sessions, and process walkthroughs
  • Understand client business processes and translate them into ServiceNow functional requirements

ServiceNow Solution Analysis

  • Analyze and document requirements for ServiceNow modules including:

    • ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request)
    • CMDB / ITOM
    • ITBM / SPM (where applicable)
    • HRSD / CSM / GRC (depending on client scope)
  • Collaborate with ServiceNow Developers and Architects to support solution design decisions
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with ServiceNow best practices and client governance standards

Delivery & Documentation

  • Produce clear and structured documentation such as:

    • Business Requirement Documents (BRD)
    • Functional Specification Documents (FSD)
    • User stories and acceptance criteria
  • Support Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and demos
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and sign-off

Governance, Risk & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with client policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Support change management and release processes
  • Contribute to Cognizant delivery quality standards and reusable assets

Core Requirements

  • 3-8 years of Business Analyst experience, with hands-on ServiceNow project exposure
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and service management concepts
  • Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum delivery models

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Experience documenting functional requirements for ServiceNow implementations
  • Understanding of workflows, catalog items, CMDB, and integrations (conceptual level)
  • Ability to work across multiple client workstreams and stakeholders

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, ITSM, or module-specific)
  • Experience supporting banking, financial services, or regulated enterprise clients
  • Prior experience with Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Accenture, or similar system integrators
  • Exposure to ServiceNow upgrades, migrations, or platform consolidations

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline
