Business Analyst

Job Summary

As a Business Analyst (BA), you will support the Product Owner in implementing the portal, with a strong focus on ensuring product quality through rigorous testing and validation activities. This includes leading user acceptance tests and system validation, supporting business requirements clarifications, creating and maintaining process and workflow maps, documenting project work, supporting training and briefings for product launches, and monitoring product performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end testing activities, including system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure the solution meets business requirements and is fit for purpose.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and functional requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate UAT sessions with business users and stakeholders, ensuring thorough coverage of test scenarios and timely resolution of defects.
  • Track, document, and manage defects through the full defect lifecycle, working closely with the development team to ensure issues are resolved and verified.
  • Validate that deployed solutions and revamped processes meet the original business need, and assess any gaps or workarounds required.
  • Manage the business requirements and functional solution aspects of the project.
  • Analyse stakeholder needs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Design and implement solutions - such as process optimisation, process automation, and digital systems - that deliver operational excellence and productivity savings.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of new solutions, including change management activities to secure buy-in.
  • Perform business analysis across the following areas: Identify stakeholders, techniques, and processes to manage, track, and trace requirements. Refine and clarify business needs, define solution scope, and develop the business case. Explore, identify, and document business needs. Assess the current state, analyse stakeholder requirements, and elaborate them to a level of detail that accurately defines the business need within the specified scope. Evaluate alternatives to identify the best-fit solution, identify gaps, and determine workarounds or changes. Assess deployed solutions or revamped processes against the original need.
  • Manage conflicts, issues, and changes to ensure stakeholders and the project team remain aligned on solution scope, and communicate and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Prepare end-user documentation, including training manuals, user manuals, test documentation, and business process flows, for the operation or maintenance of technical systems or the implementation of new standard operating procedures.
  • Review solution performance metrics post-deployment and provide recommendations to continually optimise business processes.
  • Assist with the documentation of technical design, specifications, and solutions.
  • Maintain document repositories used by the product team and assist with product documentation as needed.

What we are looking for

  • Hands-on experience across full project development life cycles, with demonstrable involvement in testing phases.
  • Proven track record in business analysis, with strong experience in UAT coordination, test planning, and defect management.
  • Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts from business and functional requirements.
  • Ability to model business requirements using business process modelling tools.
  • Ability to perform qualitative, quantitative, and root-cause analysis, including analysis of defects and testing outcomes.
  • Ability to facilitate UAT sessions and workshops to elicit, manage, and prioritise key business needs.
  • Ability to take a broad, strategic perspective while also drilling down to understand business needs and challenges in detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business Analysis certification such as the Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBA®) or Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®), or an equivalent certification.
  • A relevant software testing certification will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Agile Methodology, Business Process Reengineering, Customer Relationship Management, Data Analytics, ERP, Digital and Mobile Technologies, or Knowledge Management.
  • Knowledge of Singapore Government procurement and governance processes.
  • Knowledge of design thinking and workshop facilitation.
