Business Analyst (Data Governance)

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to data governance, data quality, metadata, and master data.
• Partner with business and technical teams to define data definitions, business glossaries, data standards, and data ownership.
• Support the development and maintenance of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures.
• Identify data quality issues, analyze root causes, and work with stakeholders to define remediation plans.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings with data owners, stewards, and SMEs to align on governance requirements.
• Document data flows, data lineage, data mappings, and process models.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements for data governance tools and solutions.
• Assist in implementing data catalog, metadata management, and data quality tools.
• Monitor governance KPIs, data quality metrics, and compliance with data standards.
• Support regulatory and compliance initiatives related to data privacy, retention, and security.
• Create reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate governance progress and risks.
• Promote data governance awareness and help drive adoption across business units.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, master data, and data lifecycle concepts.
• Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with SQL and data analysis/reporting tools.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
