Business Analyst (Core Banking)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Business Analyst with expertise in Core Banking to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in Data Lake platforms such as Databricks, alongside a strong understanding of core banking systems. This role plays a pivotal part in connecting data engineering teams with banking operations, driving data-informed decision-making and supporting strategic transformation efforts across the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

. Support planning and execution of pre-study activities across multiple workstreams

. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements

. Translate banking business needs into technical specifications for data lake solutions

. Work closely with data engineering teams to design and validate Databricks-based pipelines and analytics workflows

. Analyse core banking processes and identify opportunities for data-driven optimization

. Support data governance, lineage, and quality initiatives across banking datasets

. Facilitate workshops, stakeholder reviews, and UAT sessions

. Create process maps, data flow diagrams, and business requirement documents

. Monitor project progress, risks, and dependencies related to data and banking systems

. Prepare executive-level reports and dashboards to communicate insights and recommendations

Required Skills:

. Minimum 8-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking or financial services

. Bachelor's degree in business, IT, Finance, or related field

. Minimum 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking or financial services

. Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, or similar data lake technologies

. Strong understanding of Core Banking systems (e.g., CASA, Lending, Payments)

. Familiarity with data modelling, ETL pipelines, and cloud-based data platforms

. Proficiency in tools like SQL, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Power BI

Preferred Qualifications:

. Experience in a client-facing role, with a proven track record of managing client relationships.

. Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments

. Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance data frameworks

. Knowledge of banking data standards and metadata management

. Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams

. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

. Analytical mindset with attention to detail

. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-country environment

Preferred Education:

. Bachelor's degree/master's degree in information technology, Computer Science or equivalent work experience, or combination

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in relevant roles
