We offer you a working environment that is safe and pleasant and where equality, diversity and satisfaction are of paramount importance. Ready to develop yourself and make a positive impact Improve the world and start as Business Analyst - Asia & Middle East at Vopak.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and exceptionally detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our AME (Asia Pacific & Middle East) Business Development team. This role is critical to our regional strategy and requires a candidate who takes complete ownership of their work. You will be responsible for reporting the regional BD project pipeline, conducting in-depth market analysis, and preparing flawless, high-stakes presentations for senior management and the CBD (Commercial & BD) team.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on accuracy, possesses strong analytical acumen, and understands that their work is a direct reflection of the team's credibility. You must be a clear and constant communicator who flags issues before they arise and delivers zero-defect work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Integrity and Pipeline Management: Take full and proactive ownership of the AME BD Project reporting on Smartsheet, the central tool for our project pipeline. Ensure data accuracy and completeness, conducting regular audits to guarantee alignment with the Global Project Dashboard and all other internal reporting systems.

  • Executive-Level Reporting: Develop, prepare, and validate comprehensive presentations and reports for internal meetings, senior management, and the Executive Board. All materials must be clear, concise, well-organized, and meticulously fact-checked for errors.

  • Strategic Analysis: Conduct foundational data gathering and analysis for key strategic initiatives, such as new market entry, LNG opportunities, and competitor assessments. Go beyond simple data collection to synthesize information, identify key takeaways, and provide actionable insights.

  • Proactive Communication: Serve as a reliable information hub for the team. Proactively report on task progress, manage stakeholder expectations on deadlines, and clearly communicate any potential roadblocks or data discrepancies before they impact deliverables.

  • Task Accountability: Manage multiple assignments from inception to completion with a strong owner mindset. Demonstrate superior time management, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet all deadlines without requiring managerial follow-up.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Exceptional Attention to Detail: A proven track record of producing meticulous, zero-defect analytical work. Must have experience in quality control and data validation.

  • High Personal Accountability: A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership. You are expected to manage your workload, deliver on commitments, and hold yourself accountable for the quality and timeliness of your output.

  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Must be able to move beyond copying and pasting data. You must demonstrate the ability to analyze, question, and synthesize complex information into professional, defensible conclusions.

  • Proactive & Professional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be responsive during business hours and adept at providing active insights (key takeaways) rather than passive information sharing.

  • Resilience and Professionalism: Ability to perform under pressure, accept constructive feedback, and maintain credibility by being thoroughly familiar with your own content during presentations.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office and Google Suites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bsc degree in the relevant fields (Data analysis, statistics, chemical engineering or other engineering, economics and finance)

  • 2-4 years of experience in a business analyst, financial analyst, or consulting role, preferably within the energy, infrastructure, or logistics sectors.

  • Direct experience managing complex project pipelines using tools like Smartsheet.

  • Experience in the Petrochemical market consulting or BD analyst role is considered a strong upside.

  • Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Qlik Sense or Powerbi) and geospatial analysis tools (e.g., ArcGIS) is considered a strong upside.
