Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Airline Operations Systems expertise to support airline Operations Control Center (OCC) initiatives. The role requires solid understanding of airline operational processes, including flight operations control, crew management, and operational systems (especially AIMS), combined with strong business analysis and stakeholder management capabilities.

The Business Analyst will work closely with OCC teams, IT, and external vendors to translate operational needs into system requirements, support system enhancements, and ensure operational continuity, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a key part in optimizing crew rostering and pairing, improving system usability, and driving continuous improvement across airline operations.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis for Airline Operations Systems

  • Act as a Business Analyst and functional SME for Airline Operations Systems, particularly AIMS (flight operations & crewing), bridging operational teams, IT, and vendors.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements related to OCC, crew management, and flight operations.
  • Assess operational impacts of system changes, configuration updates, and process improvements to ensure alignment with airline operations and safety objectives.
  • Support requirement traceability, change management, and UAT for airline operations system enhancements.

Crew Rostering, Pairing & Operational Analysis

Analyze crew rostering and pairing processes and translate operational needs into system requirements, ensuring compliance with Flight Duty
Time Limitations (FDTL), rest regulations, FRMS, and company policies.

. Support business analysis during Irregular Operations (IROPs) by analyzing crew recovery scenarios, re-rostering options, and operational trade-offs.

. Provide data-driven analysis, reports, and insights to support decision-making in both real-time operations and pre-planned schedules.

System Enhancement, UAT & Continuous Improvement

. Support system upgrades, new functionality implementation, and configuration changes in collaboration with vendors and IT teams.

. Coordinate and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), operational validation, and post-implementation reviews to ensure solutions meet operational needs.

. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency improvements across flight operations and crew management workflows.

Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration

. Act as a key bridge between Operations, IT, and external system vendors, translating operational needs into clear functional requirements.

. Collaborate closely with Flight Operations, OCC managers, Crew Management, Network Planning, Engineering, and Safety teams.

. Support knowledge transfer and system training for operational users to improve proficiency and standardization.

Documentation & Governance

. Develop and maintain SOPs, system documentation, and operational guidelines related to flight operations systems.

. Ensure documentation aligns with ISO standards, regulatory expectations, and internal governance requirements.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

. Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

. 5+ years of experience in Airline Operations Control (OCC), Crew Management, or Flight Operations, with hands-on exposure to operational systems.

. Proven experience for airline operations platforms, preferably AIMS.

Skills & Competencies

. Strong business and functional understanding of airline operations, including OCC processes, crew scheduling, crew tracking, and disruption management, with the ability to translate operational needs into system and process requirements.

. Solid knowledge of aviation regulations, Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), and fatigue risk management principles, enabling effective compliance analysis and requirement validation.

. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to interpret operational data, KPIs, and system outputs

. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to engage effectively with OCC users, operational leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to align expectations and deliver solutions.

Tools & Technical Knowledge

. Hands-on experience with AIMS flight operations and crewing systems.

. Familiarity with airline operational tools and flight monitoring platforms.

. Understanding of system integration concepts, APIs, and automation workflows from a functional and requirements perspective.

. Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL basics, BI dashboards) and project management methodologies (Agile / Waterfall) is an advantage.

Other Requirements

. Willingness to work on-site, in an OCC environment, or travel as required to support operational needs.

. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment.
