Job Description

A Building Construction Supervisor oversees day-to-day construction activities on a building site and ensures that work is completed safely, on time, and according to the approved plans and regulations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision

  • Monitor daily construction activities at the site.

  • Ensure workers follow construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.

2. Workforce Management

  • Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site workers.

  • Allocate tasks and ensure proper coordination among different teams.

3. Quality Control

  • Inspect construction work to ensure it meets required standards and specifications.

  • Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are taken.

4. Safety Management

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and procedures.

  • Conduct safety briefings and monitor the use of protective equipment.

5. Progress Monitoring

  • Track construction progress and ensure work is completed according to the project timeline.

  • Report delays or issues to the project manager.

6. Material Management

  • Check the quality and quantity of materials delivered to the site.

  • Ensure proper storage and usage of construction materials.

7. Coordination with Stakeholders

  • Communicate with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors.

  • Resolve technical or operational issues at the site.

8. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain site records, daily progress reports, and inspection logs.

  • Ensure all construction activities are properly documented.

9. Compliance with Regulations

  • Ensure construction activities comply with government building regulations and permits.

  • Follow guidelines set by authorities such as the Building and Construction Authority in Singapore.

10. Problem Solving

  • Address on-site challenges such as design changes, material shortages, or labor issues.
