Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • To support and work closely with the Head of Corporate & International Risks to manage and grow the Corporate & International Risks portfolios, including production and placement activities into the Singapore and international markets.
  • Deputize for the Head of Corporate & International Risks, in their absence, providing actionable advice and effective management of the business.
  • To identify and act upon new business opportunities on a direct, wholesale, and facultative basis which promote the profitable development of the business.
  • To participate in the development of the Corporate & International Risks (re)insurance business in line with the Company's plans and targets.
  • To facilitate the prompt placement of Corporate & International Risks (re)insurance contracts in accordance with the client's requirements and needs, in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory requirements acting in the best interest of the client and the company at all times.
  • To provide a quality service to clients covering all aspects of their (re)insurance arrangements; to advise, arrange, and secure the appropriate cover at a competitive premium.
  • To engage existing clients to ascertain if there are further opportunities.
  • Support the Head of Corporate & International Risks on:

  1. The renewal business portfolio
  2. New business production
  3. The marketing & placement of risks
  4. Client Servicing
  5. Growing the team as we build out our wider Professional & Healthcare Risks capabilities in Singapore

  • To meet the financial and operational targets set by the Corporate & International Risks Department.
  • To promote effective and regular communication within the Corporate & International Risks Department and with other Departments.
  • To promote and ensure compliance with the Company's Rules and Procedures and other management instructions, in particular with regard to:

  1. The conduct and recording of business
  2. Confirmations and evidencing of cover
  3. Recording and filing of all communications and discussions
  4. The safeguarding of client monies
  5. The escalation and reporting of breaches, errors & omissions, disputes, and complaints

  • Support the liaison with other departments to ensure that a coordinated approach is adopted on matters with cross-company impact.
  • Reporting to the line manager in a timely manner to update on the performance and ensure the line manager and Compliance Officer is made aware of:

  1. Any matter that might expose the Company to a claim, legal action, or regulatory action/investigation.
  2. Any serious disciplinary cases.

  • To ensure sound business practices and an adequate and proactive risk control framework within the team.
  • To exercise judgment when reviewing proposals, either new or renewals.
  • To maintain up-to-date and orderly files, and ensure documents are saved and files are passed on to others in accordance with Company Rules and Procedures.

Any other relevant tasks that your line manager may from time to time require you to enact.

  • Represent Price Forbes with clients, agents, suppliers and other organisations.

Compliance

  • Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and compliance requirements, E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives.
  • Escalation of any potential E&O's to Division Head / Directors at the earliest opportunity.
  • Ensure completion of all mandatory Company training and to deadline.

Your scope of duties is not restrictive and may be expanded at the company's discretion.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • At least 3 Years of Reinsurance experience
  • Proven experience managing Client portfolios and handling placements independently.
  • Strong client servicing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certification in General Insurance (BCP, PGI & ComGI) is a plus
  • University Degree – Any
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines
  • Fluent skills with Microsoft and other office software
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic and regulated industry
  • Strong communication skills, independent, team player and possess can do attitude
