Job Description

Job purpose:

The role is based in Singapore and will report into the Head of International Bond Sales in Capital Markets. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for Asian investors and work closely with the Frankfurt / International Bond Sales team. The Bond Sales team is instrumental for risk transformation within Commerzbank and closely aligns with the other Bonds key stakeholders, i.e., Syndicate, Origination and Trading as well as with the bank's Treasury, to develop jointly new business opportunities and synergies.

The Sales department is the distribution arm for both the primary and the secondary trading businesses. Furthermore, it originates risk for Trading and generally serves as the competence center for investor needs with regards to bond products.

Key activities:

  • Strong relationships and knowledge of the institutional Asian investor universe. Key focus will be on Central Banks, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and financial institutions. Your job is to maintain and build new relationships.
  • Strong focus on P&L generation for your respective client class across the Asian regions. Target areas are Primary and Secondary trading flows and generating new deals via reverse inquiries.
  • Work closely with Syndicate to provide support for roadshows and other marketing activities.
  • Provide timely and accurate market updates and insights to clients to help them make informed investment decisions.
  • Identify new business opportunities and cross-selling opportunities across different products.
  • High interest in digitalization to lead initiatives and help improve databases and daily workflow tools.

Formal education:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Concentration / Major in finance or other relevant fields

Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):

  • Advanced knowledge of fixed income products - combined with 3-5 years market experience and track record of P&L generation with client facing responsibilities
  • Strong relationships with Central Banks/SWF or/and the Asian client sector are an asset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, good team spirit. Strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional authority in the market and within the company
  • Fluent in English (as main language in the office) and fluency in other major Asian languages are a positive addition to communicate with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong digital interest and knowledge beyond high proficiency in MS-Office and Bloomberg, programming skills welcome
