BIM Technician (Building Information Modelling)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically-skilled BIM Technician with a profound understanding of Chinese custom building and furniture craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will be an expert in creating detailed production design drawings using Coohom and AutoCAD. This role is hands-on and requires visiting client sites for precise measurements and a solid grasp of the entire process, from initial concept to final installation.

Key Responsibilities:

• On-Site Measurement & Client Consultation: Travel to client homes to conduct precise site measurements, assess spatial requirements, and consult with clients to understand their functional and aesthetic needs.
• Design Development & Visualization: Develop design concepts and create compelling 3D visualizations and renderings for client presentations using Coohom
• Technical Detailing : Create accurate, detailed, and production-ready technical drawings (shop drawings) using AutoCAD. Drawings must include all necessary specifications: dimensions, materials, hardware, joinery, and construction details.
• Apply Craftsmanship Knowledge: Integrate principles of traditional and modern Chinese furniture craftsmanship into designs, ensuring both beauty and structural integrity.
• Liaise with Production: Work closely with the workshop team to communicate design intent, clarify technical drawings, and resolve any manufacturing challenges.
• Understand Installation: Apply a thorough understanding of furniture installation and assembly processes to inform the design, ensuring a smooth and efficient final installation on-site.

Qualifications and Skills:

• At least 5 years of working experience in a similar role with usage of AutoCAD, Coohom
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD for creating precise 2D technical drawings.
  Fluency in written and spoken English and mandarin is preferred as this role is required to coordinate with factory teams and suppliers in mainland China
• High proficiency in Coohom for 3D modeling, design development, and rendering.
• Essential Experience & Knowledge:
• Craftsmanship: Deep, practical knowledge of Chinese custom furniture craftsmanship, including materials, construction methods, and traditional joinery.
• On-Site Work: Proven experience in conducting on-site measurements for bespoke projects and the ability to translate them into flawless designs.
• Installation: A strong, practical understanding of furniture installation and assembly procedures.
