Job Description

Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation of bakery products and keep up to date with new recipes, techniques and products.

Carry out daily baking and preparation tasks as assigned by immediate superiors to meet operational standards and quality expectations.

Follow instructions and recommendations from the Pastry Chef / Head Baker to complete daily production requirements.

Responsible for preparation, mixing, proofing, baking and finishing of breads, viennoiseries, pastries and other baked goods.

Ensure all bakery items are produced according to standardized recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.

Assist in estimating daily production needs and checking the quality of raw ingredients and finished products to ensure standards are met.

Ensure that production, preparation and presentation of bakery items are of the highest quality at all times.

Maintain full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.

Ensure proper handling, storage and preservation of ingredients and finished products at correct temperatures.

Operate and maintain bakery equipment and report any malfunctioning to superiors.

Assist in training and guiding junior staff when required to ensure smooth workflow and consistent output.

Monitor expiry dates and proper storage of ingredients and baked goods.

Carry out daily feedback reporting and raise issues to superiors as they arise.

Maintain quality standards while minimising wastage and controlling costs.

Should be able to set a positive example for personal hygiene, discipline and professionalism on and off duty.

Carry out any other duties as required by management.
