Azure data architect

Role Overview:

The Azure Data Architect will design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role involves defining data architecture strategies, ensuring compliance with best practices, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade data platforms with a strong focus on cloud governance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Design end-to-end data architecture leveraging Azure services (Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Databricks, etc.).

Define data modeling standards and implement optimized data storage solutions.

Develop strategies for data integration, migration, and transformation using Azure Data Factory and related tools.

Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into architectural solutions.

Optimize performance and cost efficiency of data solutions.

Stay updated with Azure advancements and recommend improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in data architecture and solution design on Azure.

Strong knowledge of Azure services: Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Event Hub, and Cosmos DB.

Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Spark for data engineering tasks.

Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred: Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect certification.

Experience:

8+ years in data engineering/architecture roles.

3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure data services.

Preferred Certifications & Tools:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

Experience with Power BI, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Ability to lead and mentor technical teams.

Adaptability to fast-paced and evolving cloud environments.
