We are seeking an AWS Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and highly available cloud network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity, strong security controls, and resilient network architectures that support digital services and mission-critical systems. You will work closely with project teams, system integrators, vendors, and internal IT and cybersecurity teams in a structured, regulated environment.
Design, deploy, and maintain AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments, including subnets, route tables, security groups, network ACLs, Transit Gateway, Route 53, and PrivateLink
Configure, manage, and support hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises data centres and AWS using Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPNs, gateways, and Transit Gateway
Configure and manage DNS and DHCP network services
Implement and manage network load balancing and traffic management using AWS ELB, NLB, ALB, CloudFront, and Nginx to ensure high availability, performance, and low latency
Implement network security controls aligned with security policies to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data
Configure and administer firewalls and security appliances, including Palo Alto firewalls, VPN infrastructure, and cloud-native services such as AWS WAF
Lead and support incident response activities, working with vendors and project teams to ensure timely resolution
Provide technical advice and network support for internet-facing applications during pre- and post-implementation phases
Collaborate with cloud architects, cybersecurity teams, and DevOps engineers to design secure and resilient cloud network architectures
Implement network automation and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise network performance using AWS CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, CloudTrail, and related monitoring tools
Provide technical support for Windows and Linux EC2 instances, including provisioning, configuration, and scripting assistance
Maintain accurate network documentation, topology diagrams, operational procedures, and change records in line with audit and change management requirements
Stay current with AWS networking advancements, cloud governance policies, and cybersecurity directives to support continuous improvement
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum 2 years of experience in network engineering, including AWS or hybrid cloud environments
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, DHCP, BGP, VPNs, and load balancing technologies
Hands-on experience with AWS networking services including VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Route 53, Direct Connect, and load balancers
Strong knowledge of network segmentation, traffic filtering, and firewall policy management
Proven experience in network architecture design, optimisation, and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
Familiarity with Zero Trust network design principles
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders
AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
Palo Alto Networks Certified Next-Generation Firewall Engineer
Experience supporting security and compliance requirements in regulated or government-linked environments
