We are seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to deliver AWS professional services work and provide end-to-end implementation and operational support for AWS cloud environments. The role includes hands-on configuration, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance tuning, cost optimization, and migration support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support AWS cloud infrastructure based on SOW scope and deliverables.
- Configure AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, etc.) in line with security best practices and compliance.
- Provide troubleshooting and operational support for AWS workloads.
- Optimize performance and cloud costs (rightsizing, scaling strategy, storage optimization, cost controls).
- Support cloud migration and enhancement activities (planning, execution, cutover, stabilization).
- Compute/Scaling: EC2, EBS, Auto Scaling
- Networking: VPC, Transit Gateway, Site-to-Site VPN, Direct Connect (if applicable)
- Storage: S3, EFS, FSx
- Database: RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora
- Security/IAM: IAM roles and policies, permission boundaries, least-privilege access
- Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation and/or Terraform
- Implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery architectures (multi-AZ / multi-region where required)
- Provide operational support for AWS workloads
- Incident troubleshooting and service restoration within SLA
- Root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions
- Performance tuning and reliability improvements
- Support monitoring and logging solutions : CloudWatch (metrics, alarms, dashboards), Centralized logging (CloudWatch Logs / OpenSearch / ELK or equivalent)
- Assist with backup/restore activities and disaster recovery testing.
- Support environment upgrades and migrations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud engineering / cloud operations.
- Strong AWS experience in core services: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS (additional exposure to DynamoDB/Aurora/EFS/FSx is a plus).
- Strong AWS networking skills: routing, security groups, NACLs, VPN connectivity Transit Gateway preferred.
- Working knowledge of security best practices: least privilege, IAM boundaries, governance controls.
- Experience in production support: incident management, troubleshooting, RCA, performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with IaC using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and support runbooks.
Preferred / Advantage:
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect / SysOps / DevOps - Associate/Professional).
- Experience with CI/CD for IaC deployments (e.g., CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Exposure to cloud migration approaches and operational readiness activities.
- Exposure to containers (ECS/EKS) and/or serverless (Lambda).
Work Arrangement:
- May require on-call / after-hours support depending on project and operational needs.
