About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with strong AWS Solutions Architecture and AWS Development expertise to design, build, and deploy secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions. In this role, you will work with modern cloud-native technologies, DevSecOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deliver high-quality solutions that drive business value while ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including product owners, developers, and security teams-within an agile environment to craft innovative and robust AWS-based architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Design
- Design and implement highly available, scalable, and cost-optimized AWS architectures aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Translate business requirements into detailed architectural blueprints and solution designs.
- Assess and modernize existing workloads using AWS services, serverless technologies, containers, and microservices architectures.
Cloud Development & Automation
- Develop cloud-native applications and automation workflows using AWS SDKs, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, ECS/EKS, and other AWS services.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
- Build automation for provisioning, deployment, configuration, and operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
DevSecOps & CI/CD
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Integrate security controls into pipelines, including automated code scanning, compliance checks, and artifact validation.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability using CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, and related tools.
Security, Governance & Compliance
- Apply AWS security best practices across IAM, VPC, encryption, secrets management, networking, and data protection.
- Ensure solutions comply with organizational, industry, and regulatory standards.
- Support threat modeling, risk assessments, and automated security policy enforcement.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver end-to-end cloud solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, perform code reviews, and mentor junior engineers when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the IT industry, preferably in AWS cloud implementation and support.
- Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, and more.
- Proven experience in AWS architecture design and cloud application development.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
- Experience with IaC tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native patterns, serverless architectures, event-driven designs, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated testing.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration using EKS/Kubernetes or ECS.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Passion for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional (highly preferred).
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimization.
- Familiarity with zero-trust architectures, cloud security tooling, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with multi-account AWS environments, including AWS Organizations and Control Tower.
