The Mainframe Security / RACF Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing security capabilities for zOS / RACF / Mainframe platforms. This role ensures regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and alignment with industry best practices for infrastructure and application security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, maintain, and enhance Mainframe security capabilities (zOS / RACF).
- Manage and execute security-related change requests for Mainframe systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation including Security Standards, Access Control Baselines, and operational processes.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities for Mainframe and Security Administration.
- Collaborate with Business and Systems Services teams to align infrastructure and application requirements with security solutions.
- Provide production support and monitoring to ensure control efficacy and solution reliability.
- Conduct product research, define requirements, and perform technical Proof of Concept for new security initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Mainframe security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Respond to audit and regulatory requests with timely and accurate information.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or Cyber Security from a recognized institution.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in RACF Security Administration or Mainframe application system management.
- Hands-on experience with Mainframe-related programming languages.
- Experience managing Mainframe-related projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience leading security programs in large organizations.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as MAS TRM, PCI DSS, etc.
- Professional security qualifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM) are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of AS400 and Splunk is favorable but not mandatory.
