Hiring: AVP, Corporate Finance | Real Estate Development | Singapore
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Finance professionalfor an Assistant Vice President position to join a leading real estate development company in Singapore. This role will be instrumental in shaping the group&aposs strategy driving significant growth and overseeing critical financial functions. You will build and nurture crucial relationships with external stakeholders, including banks and investors for fundraising (debt financing) activities. This role involves working alongside other departments in managing capital market transactions, developing risk mitigation strategies and M&A transactions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term corporate strategy, analyze financial data and consolidate strategic input from various business units.
- Lead M&A transactions and corporate actions from originating deals, negotiating term sheets, and coordinating with external advisors to manage due diligence.
- Be the company&aposs financial diplomat and strategist, securing the capital it needs to grow and thrive while nurturing the relationships that make it all possible.
- Lead the company&aposs efforts to proactively manage and reduce financial risks, safeguarding its balance sheet and cash flow against market volatility.
- Serve as the primary liaison for the financial community, craft and update investor-facing materials for key events like the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- Lead outreach efforts to research analysts, aiming to secure independent research coverage that helps to validate the company&aposs performance and attract a broader investor base.
Essential Skills and Experience Required
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field; a Master&aposs degree (MBA) or CFA designation is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in real estate development, with at least 5 years experience with a role focused on debt financing.
- Proven track record of successfully raising substantial capital through bond issuance and other complex debt instruments.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior-level stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in financial modeling and capital structuring for multi-million-dollar real estate projects. Expertise in comparable analysis, benchmarking, and tools like DCF, IRR, and payback analysis.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, investment principles, M&A processes and SGX takeover and listing rules and capital raising strategies.
- Work experience in Singapore and/or the APAC market is essential.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is also required.
Beyond technical skills, the ideal candidatewe&aposre looking for someone resourceful, independent, and proactive. You must be meticulous with a strong attention to detail, a problem-solving attitude, and the ability to handle confidential information with high discretion. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are essential. You should also be a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
